President John F. Kennedy made it America's goal to land the first human on the moon by the end of the 1960s. A few years after setting this goal, Kennedy was assassinated. Even though he was never able to see it, his goal was accomplished.
Neil A. Armstrong
Armstrong was one of the first men to step foot on the moon. Armstrong was a naval aviator for 3 years before working for 17 years with NACA and NASA.
Eldwin "Buzz" Aldrin
Aldrin was one of the first men to step foot on the moon. Aldrin was a fighter pilot in the Korean war and was selected by NASA to be a part of the Gemini mission.
